Men's Volleyball Blanks Sage, 3-0
Albany, N.Y. (1/31/12) – The Kean University men’s volleyball team picked up their third straight Skyline Conference win as they defeated host the Sage Colleges, 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-17) Tuesday evening.
With the win, the Cougars improved to 3-1 this season and 3-0 in
conference action.
Kean recorded an impressive .400 attack percentage as senior Christian Portera led the way with nine kills on 17 swings (.529%). In addition he added five total blocks with three digs. Junior Steve Vahalla tallied nine kills (.368%) and eight digs with two service aces and two blocks. Rookie Ed Jedziniak (pictured left) highlighted the night with eight kills and a .636 attack percentage while freshman Kyle Farley finished with a team-high six blocks.
The Cougars return to action on Saturday when they travel to New York University for a duel match beginning at noon.
