NCAA Men's Volleyball Tournament Field Announced
INDIANAPOLIS (4/15/12) – The NCAA Division III Men’s Volleyball Committee announced the field of nine teams for the inaugural NCAA Division III Men’s Volleyball Championship at the end of April. In just its second year as a varsity sport, the Kean University men’s volleyball team captured the Skyline Conference title, earning one of six automatic bids to the NCAA tournament.
Under head coach Don Perkins, the Cougars (25-10) will face Hunter College (25-8), a member of the City University of New York (CUNY) Athletic Conference and one of three Pool C bids, on Friday, April 27, at Springfield College in the quarterfinals. The match is set for 2:30 p.m.
Kean posted a 1-1 record against teams in the tournament field, defeating Baruch College (3-2) and falling to top-seeded Springfield College in straight sets.
