NEWARK, N.J. (1/20/17) – New Jersey Institute of Technology – a Division I program – handed the No. 10 Kean University men's volleyball team its first setback of the season on Friday evening.
The Cougar defense held NJIT to a -.053 hitting percentage in the first set and a .000 average in the second.
The Highlanders ripped 11 aces in the match, however, led by Jabarry Goodridge. Goodridge also led his team with seven kills.
Steven Zarzycki hit .400 for the Cougars and led the team with seven kills. Ian Capp had 16 assists, while Jacob Kauffman had a team-best five digs and added six kills. He and Nate Daugherty (pictured left) had the two Cougar aces in the match.
NJIT is now 2-2. The Cougars fell to 5-1.
Kean will return home next weekend to host the Clash at Kean beginning against Rivier University on Friday at 5 p.m.
