Men’s Volleyball Dominates in Tri-Match Sweep

UNION, N.J. (3/29/17) – The Kean University men's volleyball team did not drop a set as the Cougars topped New Jersey City University and York College of New York at home on Wednesday.

Though the Gothic Knights are Skyline Conference rivals, Wednesday's game was not a league contest. The two teams will meet again on April 7 in conference play.

The first set against NJCU held the most drama. It was a 25-23 victory for Kean that featured eight lead changes and a whopping 21 ties – just two off the 25-point-set maximum. The Cougars won the next five sets with ease, however, to improve to 18-8 on the year.

Kamil Garbowski (12 kills / .647), Shayron Taylor (12 / .588), Steven Zarzycki (10 / .500), Nick Buseski (10 / .438) and Jacob Milnazik (13 / .375) all had good nights swinging for the Cougars.

Ian Capp finished with 41 assists and Kevin Barrow added 22. Jacob Kauffman had four aces in just two sets, and Milnazik also had four aces on the night. Nick Breslin posted a team-best six digs, and Taylor walled two solo blocks.

Kean will hit the road for a Skyline Conference tri-match on Saturday against St. Joseph's of Brooklyn and Purchase College at 10 a.m. in Purchase, New York.
