UNION, N.J. (1/8/2018)- The No. 11 Kean University Men's Volleyball team has been picked first in the East Division of the Continental Volleyball Conference Preseason Poll.
The nationally ranked Cougars totaled 35 points and received eight first place votes. Rutgers-Newark has been slotted second with 26 points and one first place vote, while Ramapo College placed third with 23 points and one first place vote. Cairn University has been tabbed fourth with 10 points and Neumann University placed fifth with five points.
Juniata took first in the West Division with 36 total points and nine first place votes. The Eagles won the CVC in 2017, defeating Eastern Mennonite in the title game last April. Juniata is followed by Marymount University, EMU, Southern Virginia University and Thiel College.
Last season, Kean went undefeated in the Skyline Conference and captured their sixth straight conference championship.
The Cougars are first year members of the CVC.
Head Coach Charlie Ginex and the Cougars will open the 2018 season on Friday, Jan. 19th, hosting the Dolphins of the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Kean Winter Classic at 4:00 p.m.
