Union, N.J. (1/26/18) – The Kean University men's volleyball team improved to 4-0 with a straight set win over Lasell College in the opening match of the Clash at Kean on Friday afternoon.
#7 Kean was powered by senior Jared Warner who tallied 10 kills along with no errors (.769%) as well as three blocks. The Cougars hit .407 as a unit in the 25-17, 25-16, 25-20 win.
The Cougars trailed for the first half of the first set and tied things up and took the lead (12-11) on back-to-back aces from Ian Capp. Kean kept the advantage the rest of the way and ended the set on four straight points.
Kean led or tied for the entire third set to cruise to the straight set win.
Zarzycki had a team-high 12 kills and finished with 14.5 points. Nick Buseski collected six kills (.667%) and three digs while Capp tallied 37 assists and six digs along with three kills.
For the Lasers (0-3) Jordan Aprea had seven kills and four digs while teammate Conor Leary-Watson had eight kills (.545%).
Kean returns to action on Saturday morning when they host #2 Stevens Institute of Technology at 10 a.m.
