Men’s Volleyball Takes Second Straight with Victory over NJCU

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (1/31/18)- Steven Zarzycki totaled nine kills as the  #6 Kean University men's volleyball team swept New Jersey City University, 3-0 in straight sets for its second victory in a row.

Nick Buseski finished with seven kills and a .462 hitting percentage for the Cougars who improve to 6-1 overall. Julian Moreira and Alexander Umanzor each tallied five kills apiece for the Gothic Knights who fall to 0-1 overall.

After rallying to win the opening set, Kean answered with a .600 attacking percentage and a 25-11 dominating victory in set two. Kean closed out set three with a 25-17 victory and posted a .435 attacking percentage.

Buseski served the final two points of set one, including putting down set point off an assist from Ian Capp. Capp totaled 27 assists and two aces, while Shayron Taylor totaled seven kills.

Head Coach Charlie Ginex and the Cougars will return to action in Arlington, Va. on Saturday, Feb. 3rd, in a tri-match against nationally-ranked Marymount University and Lancaster Bible College, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
