Softball Earns Top Seed in ECAC Metro Tournament

Centerville, Mass. (5/3/09) - The Kean University softball team has been selected as the top seed in the upcoming Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro Region Championships, as announced Monday afternoon.

The Cougars finished the regular season 19-17 and earned the fifth seed in the New Jersey Athletic Conference playoffs.

The ECAC Metro Championships is a seven-team tournament with a quarterfinal round (single elimination) on Wednesday, May 6, followed by a double-elimination format for the four remaining teams on Saturday, May 9 through Sunday, May 10.

Game 3: Game 1 loser vs. Game 2 loser, 2 p.m.
Game 4: Game 1 winner vs. Game 2 winner, 4 p.m.

Double Elimination Format - Sunday, May 10 at Kean University

Game 5: Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 loser, 10 a.m.
Game 6: Game 4 winner vs. Game 5 winner, 12 p.m.
Game 7 (if necessary): Game 6 winner vs. Game 6 loser, 2 p.m.
