Softball Earns Three All-NJAC Selections

PITMAN, N.J. (5/3/18) - The Kean University softball team had three Cougars selected to the All-NJAC teams as announced by the conference office today. Olivia Zengel earned a first-team selection, while Cayleen Rizo and Jacqueline Riley earned second-team selections.

Zengel earns her first All-NJAC selection after hitting .443 with 54 hits, 31 runs scored, 15 stolen bases, 13 RBI's, three doubles and one triple in 37 games. The junior posted a .484 slugging percentage and a .481 on-base percentage as she was named the NJAC and ECAC Player of the Week during the season.

Rizo earns her second straight All-NJAC selection after hitting .392 with 51 hits, 37 RBI's, 23 doubles, 20 runs scored, two triples and two home runs in 37 games. The junior posted a .646 slugging percentage and a .404 on-base percentage as she set a new career and broke the single-season record for doubles.

Riley earns her second straight All-NJAC selection after hitting .328 with 39 hits, 22 RBI's, 11 doubles and seven runs scored. In the circle, the junior posted a 2.27 ERA with 54 strikeouts and a 10-6 record in 17 appearances.

Head Coach Margie Acker and the Cougars will return to action in Montclair, N.J. on Friday, May 4th, against the Lions of the College of New Jersey in the NJAC Softball Tournament at 4:00 p.m.
