Staggers Named Male Athlete of the Month

Sophomore Jason Staggers (Jackson, N.J.) of the men's indoor track and field team has been selected as January's Male Athlete of the Month.

The Cougars opened the month at the Gulden Relays hosted by Bucknell University on January 13th. Staggers placed first in the men's triple jump with a leap of 13.22 meters. He also competed in the men's long jump and placed fourth with a jump of 6.51 meters and finished tenth in the men's 500 meter dash with a time of 1:12.18.

Kean traveled to Ursinus College on January 19th, competing in the Collegeville Classic. Staggers placed sixth in the men's triple jump with a leap of 12.54 meters. He also placed sixth in the men's long jump at 6.14 meters.

The Cougars concluded the month at the Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University on January 27th. Staggers placed ninth in the men's 500 meter dash with a time of 1:11.17.

For his efforts, Staggers was also named the NJAC Male Field Athlete of the Week on January 22nd.
