Track Competes at DeSchriver Invitational

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. (2/3/07) - The Kean University Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field team competed at the DeSchriver Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg University and held on Saturday, February 3, 2007.

On the men's side freshman Reggie James (Willingboro, N.J.) placed 8th in the men's 500 meter dash with a time of 1:10.03. Close behind was teammate Erick Orozco (Woodbridge, N.J.) with a time of 1:10.75. Junior Nelson Stryker (Milltown, N.J.) placed 12th in the men's 200 meter dash with a time of 24.22 seconds.

Sophomore Jason Staggers (Jackson, N.J.) 6th in the men's long jump with a leap of 6.45 meters he also placed 7th in the men's triple jump with a mark of 12.72 meters. Senior Brian Sims (Matawan, N.J.) finished 22nd in the men's 5000 meter run with a time of 17:13.54. The men's 4 x 400 meter relay team placed 14th with a time of 3:36.88.

Highlighting the women's track events, Anna Khorasheva (Ocean, N.J.) placed 38th in the women's one mile run with a time of 6:19.08. Freshman Tyher'Rah Thomas (South Plainfield, N.J.) finished 11th in the women's 500 meter run with a time of 1:35.33 and placed 27th in the women's 200 meter dash with a time of 29.73.

The team will compete again on Saturday, February 11th at the CTC Championships hosted by Yale University.
