Cougars Compete at NJAC Indoor
Championships
TOMS RIVER, N.J. (2/19/07) - The Kean University Men's and
Women's Indoor Track and Field team competed at the NJAC Indoor
Track and Field Championship hosted by Kean University and held on
Monday, February 19, 2007 at the John Bennett Indoor Complex.
On the men's side sophomore Jason Staggers (Jackson, N.J.) placed
3rd in the men's long jump with a leap of 6.44 meters. He also
placed 6th in the men's triple jump with a mark of 12.60 meters.
Sophomore Kalif Rozier (Newark, N.J.) followed close behind and
finished 9th in the triple jump with a mark of 12.05 meters. He
also placed 9th in the men's 200 meter dash with a time of 24.54.
Junior Nelson Stryker (Milltown, N.J.) placed 5th in two events
with a time of 6.63 in the men's 55 meter dash and 23.65 in the
men's 200 meter dash. Freshman Reggie James (Willingboro, N.J.)
finished 10th in the men's 800 meter run with a time of
2:02.94.
Highlighting the women's track events, sophomore Demeka Pressley
(Trenton, N.J.) placed sixth in the women's long jump with a mark
of 4.75 meters and also finished 5th in the women's 200 meter dash
with a time of 27.58.
Sophomore Erin Jones (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) finished fourth
in the women's pole vault with a mark of 2.30 meters. The women's
4x400 meter relay team finished 4th with a time of 4:36.07.
The team will compete again on Friday, February 23rd at the Fast
Track Invitational hosted by New York University.
