Track Competes at Danny Curran Invitational
CHESTER, Pa. (3/31/07) - The Kean University men's and women's
track and field team competed at the Danny Curran Invitational
hosted by Widener University over the weekend.
For the women, sophomore Demeka Pressley (Trenton, N.J.) had a
strong showing, as she placed eighth in the 200-meter dash (27.19),
ninth in the 400-meter dash (1:03.61), 11th in the long
jump (4.36 meters) and 12th in the 100-meter hurdles
(17.76).
Sophomore Sherene Stephens (Orange, N.J.) finished team's
highest finish of the afternoon, placing fifth in the triple jump
(10.13 meters) and was 10th in the 100-meter hurdles
(17.45).
In the men's meet, junior Nelson Stryker (Milltown, N.J.)
finished eighth in the 200-meter dash (22.96) and 11th
in the 100-meter dash (11.55), while sophomore Jason Staggers
(Jackson, N.J.) placed eighth in the triple jump (12.82 meters.)
The Cougars compete at the Penn Invitational at University of
Pennsylvania, on Saturday April 7th.
