Track Competes At CTC Championships 

Allentown, Pa. (4/22/07) - The Kean University Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field team competed at the CTC Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by DeSales University and held on Saturday, April 21^st and Sunday, April 22^nd at DeSales University.

On the women's side sophomore Sherene Stephens (Orange, N.J.) placed fifth in the women's 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.13 while also finishing second in the triple jump with a mark of 10.87 meters.  Sophomore Demeka Pressley (Trenton, N.J.) placed sixth in the women's 200 meter dash with a time of 26.42.  She also finished third in the women's 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:11.54.  Senior Liz Bauer (Rahway, N.J.) placed fifth in the women's javelin throw with a mark of 31.52 meters.  Sophomore Erin Jones (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) finished seventh in the women's heptathlon with a score of 2758.  The women placed 7^th in a field of 17 competitors.

Highlighting the men's events freshman Peterson Piquiot (Elizabeth, N.J.) placed 10^th in the men's decathlon with a score of 3813.  Junior Nelson Stryker (Milltown, N.J.) finished fourth in the men's 100 meter dash with a time of 11.27 seconds while also finishing sixth in the men's 200 meter dash with a time of 22.60 seconds.  Senior Brian Sims (Matawan, N.J.) placed fifth in the men's 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:35.69.  Sophomore Jason Staggers (Jackson, N.J.) finished fifth in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.36 meters.

The team will compete again beginning on Friday, April 27^th at the Penn Relays.
