Cougars Compete at ECAC Championships
ONEONTA, N.Y. (5/18/07) - Sophomore Sherene
Stephens (Orange, N.J.) placed fifth in both the 100-meter
hurdles and the triple jump at the Eastern College Athletic
Conference Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at
SUNY-Oneonta.
Stephens crossed the finish line in 15.74 seconds in the finals of
the 100-meter hurdles to place fifth. In the triple jump, she
leaped 10.90 meters (35-9.25) for her second top-five finish of the
championships.
On the men's side, sophomore Jason Staggers (Jackson,
N.J.) competed in a pair of events, placing
12th in the long jump (6.06 meters) and 22nd
in the triple jump (12.88 meters). Junior Nelson
Stryker (Milltown, N.J.) was 20th in the
100-meter dash (11.50), while freshman Alvin Davis
(Paterson, N.J.) finished 22nd in the 400-meter
hurdles (57.69).
