Track Opens Indoor Season
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (12/10/06) - The Kean University Men's and
Women's Indoor Track and Field team competed for the first time
this season at the Seton Hall Games on Sunday, December 10,
2006.
On the men's side sophomore Jason Staggers (Jackson, N.J.) placed
fourth in the men's long jump at 6.47 meters while freshman
Peterson Paquiot (Elizabeth, N.J.) placed tenth at 5.63 meters.
Staggers also competed in the triple jump and finished eighth with
a leap of 12.90 meters. Senior Brian Sims (Matawan, N.J.) raced in
the men's 3000 meter race and placed 15th with a time of 9:51.67.
Rookie Dwayne Dobbins placed 11th in the men's 800 meter race with
a time of 2:04.62. In the men's 200 meter race, sophomore Kalif
Rozier (Newark, N.J.) placed 11th with a time of 24.32.
Highlighting the women's events, sophomore Sarah Zadoyko (Pompton
Lakes, N.J.) finished 16th in the women's shotput with a throw of
8.82 meters. On the track, freshman Tyher'Rah Thomas (South
Plainfield, N.J.) finished 15th with a time of 2:50.75 in the
women's 800 meter race.
The team now enjoys a long break before competing again on
Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the Bucknell Invitational.
