Indoor Track Competes at CTC Championships

New Haven, Conn. (2/10/08) - The Kean University indoor track and field teams competed at the CTC Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend at Yale University.

Highlighting the weekend was the women's 4x200 Meter Relay team comprised of Demeka Pressley (Trenton, N.J.), Asha Winters (Ewing, N.J.), Tyher'Rah Thomas (South Plainfield, N.J.) and Jamie Grenger (Hazlet, N.J.) who finished third with a time of 1:50.22, qualifying for the ECAC Tournament.

In other action on the women's side, freshman Alyssa Crosby (Hackensack, N.J.) finished seventh in the women's 500 meter run with a time of 1:30.17 while junior Erin Jones (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) placed fourth in the women's pole vault with a measurement of 2.75 meters.  In field action, sophomore Jan Bush (Willow Grove, Pa.) recorded a fourth place finish with a distance of 10.90 meters while teammate Sarah Lyon (Clymer, N.Y.) was eighth in the same event with a distance of 9.85 meters.  In other relay action, the women's 4x400 relay team of Pressley, Grenger, Thomas and Winters placed fourth with a time of 4:22.24.

On the men's side, freshman Marques Wallace (Vauxhall, N.J.) finished fourth in the men's 55 meter dash finals with a time of 6.76 seconds while also placing fifth in the men's 4x200 meter relay with teammates Matt Gough (Jefferson, N.J.), Sean Oyelaja (Lagos, Nigeria) and Joe DiMeglio (Metuchen, N.J.) with a time of 1:33.80.  In other relay action, the 4x400 relay team of Dwayne Dobbins (Mt. Holly, N.J.), Reggie James (Willingboro, N.J.), Jason Staggers (Jackson, N.J.) and Gough finished third with a time of 3:30.16.  In field action, Staggers finished fourth in both the high jump and long jump with distances of 1.75 meters and 6.62 meters respectively.
