Track Opens Indoor Season at Seton
Hall Open

(12/2/07) - The Kean University Men's and Women's
Indoor Track and Field team competed at the Seton Hall Open held on
Sunday, December 2, 2007.
The indoor season got underway as junior Jason Staggers
(Jackson, N.J.) placed fifth in the long jump with a leap
of 6.47 meters followed by freshman Ray Mendez (Middlesex,
N.J.) who finished in ninth place with a jump of 6.29
meters. Mendez also placed eighth in the triple jump with a
mark of 12.66 meters followed by Staggers in 10th place
at 12.55 meters. In the high jump, freshman Josh
Chavanne (Elizabeth, N.J.) placed ninth with a jump of
1.77 meters. Freshman Brian Vanderstad (Pompton
Lakes, N.J.) (pictured right) and John Badala
(Scotch Plains, N.J.) finished back-to-back in
11th and 12th place in men's shot put with
distances of 11.65 and 11.5 meters respectively.
Highlighting the women's side, freshman Jamie Grenger
(Hazlet, N.J.) placed 14th in the women's 200
meter dash with a time of 28.13 seconds. In the long jump,
junior Demeka Pressley (Trenton, N.J.) finished
ninth with a leap of 4.71 meters and in the shot put freshman
Elizabeth Hatos (Egg Harbor Twp, N.J.) finished
10th with a distance of 8.26 meters.
