Women's Hoops Jump into Top 10 in National
Rankings
UNION, N.J. (01/22/08) - The Kean University
women's basketball team has moved into the Top 10 in a pair of
national rankings after victories over The College of New Jersey
and nationally ranked Messiah College last week.
Kean moved up four spots to #7 in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll
and three spots to #8 in the USA Today ESPN Division III Top 25
Coaches Poll.
Last week, the Cougars defeated The College of New Jersey,
60-44, in a key New Jersey Athletic Conference South Division
showdown, as the Cougars scored the final 15 points of the game to
pull away for the victory.
In a rematch of last year's NCAA Second Round, the Cougars once
again defeated Messiah College on its home court, defeating the
then #7/8 Falcons, 69-64.
The Cougars return to NJAC action this week, traveling to
Richard Stockton College (1/23/08) and Montclair State University
(1/26/08).
