Powell Selected NJAC Rookie of the Week
Pitman, N.J. (12/17/07) - Kean University freshman Brittany Powell (Tinton Falls, N.J.) has been selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) women's basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending December 15th.
Powell helped spark the Cougars to an 89-26 non-conference road win at Hunter. She came off the bench and produced a game-high 19 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field in just 16 minutes of action. She also registered three assists, four steals, and one rebound in the victory in which she shot 4-of-5 from three-point range.
Powell currently ranks seventh in the NJAC in three-point field goals made per game (1.43).
