Cooper Named NJAC Player of the Week
PITMAN, N.J. (12/24/07) - Senior center
Chari' Cooper (Paulsboro, N.J.) became the second
different Kean University women's basketball player to earn New
Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week after posting a
double-double in Kean's 82-65 non-conference road victory at
perennial powerhouse University of Scranton last week.
In the game, Cooper posted 11 points and a season-high 27
rebounds, single-handedly outrebounding the entire Scranton squad
(27-26).
The 27 rebounds were just three shy of her school-record 30
boards set as a freshman in 2004-05, and were the most rebounds of
any NJAC player in a game this season and tied the highest single
game total in NCAA Division III this season.
Cooper currently leads the NJAC in both rebounding (15.8 per
game) and steals (3.75 per game).
