Women's Hoops Tops Crown in Puerto Rico

San Juan, P.R. (12/20/16) – Rookie De'Mean Bond netted a double-double as the Kean University women's basketball team topped Crown College, 62-44, in the Puerto Rico Clasico.

The Cougars (7-3) led for a majority of the contest in their first contest in two days on their winter break trip in Puerto Rico.  Bond (pictured left) finished tied with a game-high 14 points in addition to a game-high 10 rebounds.  Teammate Jaquetta Owens also had 14 points, coming off four treys and five rebounds.

Kean held a slight 35-34 advantage at the break but used a 19 point output in the third quarter to pull away with the win.

Sophomore Miesha Bacon was 6-for-9, good for 13 points as 12 players saw action in today's contest. 

The Cougars will face Calvin College on Wednesday to conclude their tour.
