North Central Tops Women's Basketball

Richardson, Texas (12/30/17) – North Central College led wire-to-wire as the Kean University women's basketball dropped an 83-70 decision in day two of the UTD Classic.

Marajiah Bacon again led all players, this time with 29 points on the afternoon.  With the loss the Cougars fall to 6-5 on the year.

The Cardinals (3-9) pushed their advantage out to double digits on several occasions in the first half, but Kean was able to close out the second quarter on a 9-2 run started by a three-point play from Bacon and finished with a jumper from Latice Cunningham.  The Cougars trailed 39-33 at the break.

North Central then paced the second half, widening their lead to as many as 23 points early in the fourth quarter to cruise to the win.

Bacon added five rebounds while De'Mean Bond contributed with 11 points and eight rebounds in 14 minutes of work.  Lorenzah Hammer recorded 11 points and four rebounds in the loss.

Kean returns to NJAC action in the new year when they host Rowan University on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
