Wrapping Up the 2012 Season

The Kean University women’s lacrosse team qualified for the Skyline Conference tournament for the fifth straight season after posting a 5-3 mark in the Skyline and finished with a 9-9 record under third-year head coach Leslie LaFronz

The Cougars, who also posted a 2-3 mark in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, were led by three-time all-conference selection Lyndsey Cannon.  Cannon set new single season records with 85 goals and 108 points, while becoming the program's all-time leader with 66 career assists this year.  Cannon also led the team in draw controls (66), groundballs (72) and caused turnovers (40).

Sophomore Ciara Mastrodomenico was second on the team with 46 goals and added 35 groundballs and 46 draw controls, while rookie Marisa DeAngelis recorded 53 draw controls from her defender position.

Defensively, senior Katy Bednarz provided veteran leadership, while also ranking second on the team with 18 caused turnovers and 40 groundballs.  Junior Jules Keeley made 146 saves in net as she was named the NJAC Goalkeeper of the Year.
