Women’s Lacrosse Falls to No. 6 TCNJ

UNION, N.J (3/5/13) – Freshman Jordan Blanda (pictured left) and junior Ciara Mastrodomenico scored for the Kean University women's lacrosse team but the Cougars could not contain a balanced attack by sixth-ranked The College of New Jersey in a 17-2 game on Tuesday.

Eight different Lions found the back of the net and TCNJ scored the first 12 goals of the contest before Blanda tallied her second career goal on a breakaway with five minutes remaining in the first half.

The Cougars were able to keep the second half closer, and Mastrodomenico converted a free position opportunity into a goal halfway through the period.

Alex Spark led TCNJ with four goals and six points, while Jillian Nealon and Lauren Pigott scored three apiece for the Lions.

Kean will travel to Manhattanville College on Thursday for a non-conference matchup with the Valiants at 4 p.m.
