Women's Lacrosse Powers Past Thomas

Orlando, Fla. (3/13/13) – Junior Julie Knodt registered a team-high four goals along as the Kean University women's lacrosse team breezed past Thomas College (Maine) by the final of 17-4.

The Cougars improve to 4-1 this season with the win.

Kean dominated the matchup as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead with single goals from four different Cougars.  Thomas was able to score two quick goals with 17 minutes to go in the first half to cut the deficit in half, but Kean responded scoring five straight unanswered goals in the final 15 minutes to take a 9-2 lead at the intermission.

After swapping goals in the early portion of the second half, Kean once again paced play tallying the next seven goals to cushion the lead and ensure the win.

Senior Stephanie Tocko recorded three goals and two assists while classmate Lyndsey Cannon added two goals and an assist of her own.

Kean returns home to face the College of Mt. St. Vincent on Saturday in Skyline action at 1 p.m.
