Women's Lacrosse Powers Past Purchase
Purchase, N.Y. (4/11/13) – The Kean University women's lacrosse team trailed for just less than a minute in today's action as they easily defeated Purchase College, 21-5, Thursday evening in Skyline action.
Senior Lyndsey Cannon (pictured left) led all players as she collected five draw controls and four groundballs. She led the offense with six goals and five assists as the Cougars improved to 9-4 overall and 5-3 in the Skyline.
Tied at one-all early in the contest, the Cougars fell behind 2-1, but the disadvantage only lasted 41 seconds as junior Julie Knodt tied the match on an assist from senior Stephanie Tocko. Kean then breezed through the first half, taking an 11-4 lead at the break.
The Cougars tallied 12 consecutive goals spanning the first and second half on their way to winning their third consecutive game.
Tocko finished the game with five goals and an assist while junior Ciara Mastrodomenico added three tallies.
Kean stays on the road and will face Skyline rival SUNY Maritime on Saturday at 4 p.m.
