Women's Lacrosse Rolls Past Sage

Troy, N.Y. (3/11/14) – The Kean University women's lacrosse team scored 10 straight goals on their way to topping the Sages Colleges, 15-3, Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action.

The Cougars improve to 4-0 on the season while Sage drops to 1-1.

After trading single goals to start the contest, Kean then dominated the remainder of the period, with six straight tallies in an even paced attack, heading into the break with a 7-1 lead.  Maggie Brocklebank led the squad with three first half goals while Jordan Blanda added two.

The Cougars picked up right where they left off in the second stanza as Brocklebank (pictured left) opened the scoring four minutes in.  The Gators broke the streak with their second goal of the day with just over 20 minutes to go.  Kean held a commanding advantage in shots (32-6) while forcing 22 turnovers on the afternoon.

Offensively, Brocklebank recorded five goals and an assist in the win while Meghan Schneck provided one goal and four assists.  Sharell Lowe and Danielle Wagenta combined in goal for the win.

Kean returns to action on Thursday when they face Meredith College in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
