Women's Lacrosse Edged by Meredith

Hilton Head, S.C. (3/13/14) – The Kean University women's lacrosse team suffered their first loss of the season as they were edged by Meredith College, 15-13, during their spring break trip to South Carolina.

The Avenging Angels improve to 7-1 while Kean drops to 4-1 this spring.

The first half was a tight battle that included four ties and neither team leading by three.  Meredith headed into the break with a slight 7-5 advantage.  Senior Julie Knodt tallied two goals in the first 30 minutes to lead the Cougars.

The Angels then stormed out of the break, scoring seven of the first eight goals of the half to take a 14-6 lead.  The Cougars didn't give up though, registering five straight goals in the final seven minutes of action to fall by the final of 15-13.

Knodt led the team with three goals while Jordan Blanda (pictured left) and Meghan Schneck each notched two goals and an assist.

Kean returns home to face SUNY New Paltz on Wednesday, March 19th in a recently added game.  Game time is set for 4 p.m.
