Women's Lacrosse Breezes by Rutgers-Camden
Camden, N.J. (4/19/14) – The Kean University women's lacrosse team breezed to an 18-3 win over host Rutgers-Camden in NJAC action on Saturday afternoon.
Kean (8-6, 2-2 NJAC) jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the first 11 minutes of action as sophomore Samantha Gnapp already netted a hat-trick with 19:15 on the clock. The Cougars then paced the first half, pushing out to a very comfortable 10-1 advantage heading into halftime. Seven different Cougars got in on the scoring in the first 30 minutes as seniors Shelby Wallace and Julie Knodt tallied two goals apiece.
The Cougars played the second half, much like the first, using a balanced scoring attack to walk away with the win.
Gnapp (pictured left) finished with a game-high four goals while Wallace added her own hat-trick and an assist. Knodt recorded a team-high five points with two goals and three assists.
Camden's (5-9, 0-4 NJAC) Jackie Jones tallied two goals in the loss.
Kean returns home to face Ramapo College in their final regular season home game on Tuesday evening.
