Under the tutelage of head coach Dipi Bhaya, the Kean University field hockey program has grown into a dominant force in the ultra competitive New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). During her tenure, Kean has posted six consecutive winning seasons, a program best, and advanced to the post season twice, including a berth in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Regional championship two years ago.

In 2003, the Cougars rewrote the Kean field hockey history books, opening the season with 11 consecutive victories, including six straight shutouts, on their way to a program-record 15 wins. The Cougars, who won their first NJAC game in more than four years with a 2-1 overtime victory over William Paterson University, finished 15-5 overall, 2-3 in the NJAC, and advanced to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Mid-Atlantic Region Tournament for only the third time in program history.  In 2005, Kean opened up the campaign with six straight wins on their way to a 12-5 regular season overall record and in turn a berth as the third seed in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament.  The Cougars went on to shutout their first two opponents and advance to the championship game for the first time in program history.  Kean battled and eventually lost in double-overtime to top-ranked Gettysburg College.

Along with her field hockey duties, coach Bhaya is also the head women's lacrosse coach. Bhaya began her collegiate head-coaching career in 1988 at Drexel University, where she guided the field hockey and lacrosse teams, leading both programs to school records for wins and the lacrosse team to a national ranking. She left Drexel in 1994 to become the first head coach for the newly established Virginia Tech lacrosse program, leading the Hokies until 1998 before coaching both sports at the high school level in Pennsylvania and Delaware for three years. Bhaya has previously served as a United States Women's Lacrosse Association (USWLA) National Tournament Coach and has been involved in the NCAA Youth Education in Sports (YES) Clinics at the NCAA's Lacrosse and Field Hockey Final Four Championships.

She earned a master's degree in physical education from West Chester University (Pa.) in 1988 and a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education from the University of Delaware in 1986.
