Women's Soccer Named October Team of the Month

The Kean University Women's Soccer team has been selected as October's Team of the Month. In eight matches, the Cougars recorded a 5-1-2 record, including three straight conference victories to close out the month.

It wasn't an easy month for Kean, who battled to four overtime periods during October. The Cougars rolled off two non-conference wins to open the month as they defeated Lebanon Valley College, 2-1 in overtime on October 2nd and Wilkes University 1-0 just two days later. Kean suffered their only loss of the month as they traveled to #4 ranked The College of New Jersey on October 7th. The Cougars battled to two overtime ties in their next two matches, 1-1 at Montclair State on October 11th and 0-0 against sixth-ranked Western Connecticut State University when they returned home six days later. Kean then closed out the month with three straight New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) wins, including a win in the quarterfinals of the NJAC Tournament. The Cougars posted two wins against Rowan University, a 2-1 win in their final regular season home match and a 4-2 win in the NJAC quarterfinals on October 30th in Glassboro, N.J., handing Rowan two of their three losses on the season. Kean also posted a 3-2 overtime win at William Paterson on October 25th.

The Cougars will now play the waiting game for a possible postseason bid.
