Six Cougars Earn All-NJAC Women's Soccer
Honors
Pitman, N.J. (11/2/06) - Senior forward Heather Anzivino
(Belford, N.J.) and junior back Nicole Hauck (Roselle Park, N.J.)
each earned New Jersey Athletic Conference Women's Soccer
First-Team honors, as selected by the NJAC coaches and announced by
the conference Thursday morning.
Seniors Allison Fream (Point Pleasant, N.J.) and Lisa Battaglia
(Gibbstown, N.J.) garnered second-team distinction, while senior
Brienne Campbell (Freehold, N.J.) and junior midfielder Michelle
Fischer (Scotch Plains, N.J.) were named honorable mention
all-stars.
A four-time all-conference selection, Anzivino was also named the
NJAC Offensive Player of the Year after leading the team and the
conference in both goals (19) and points (43). The 2003 NJAC Rookie
of the Year also earned first-team honors last season after being
tabbed a second-team all-star in 2003 and 2004.
Hauck (left) earns her first all-conference distinction after
anchoring a defense that ranked fourth in the conference in goals
allowed and fifth in goals against average The junior played in 15
games this season and made 12 starts.
A pair of four-year starters, Fream and Battaglia (right)
each earned second-team honors for the second straight
season. Battaglia was tied for third on the team in goals (3) and
fourth on the squad in points (9), while Fream scored a goal and
added a pair of assists on the year.
For the third straight season, Campbell was named an honorable
mention all-star, as she leads the team in assists (6), while
finishing third in both goals (3) and points (12). Another
four-year starter, her six assists also tie her for fourth in the
conference.
Fischer, who also earned honorable mention honors in 2004, ranks
third on the team in assists with four. She scored her lone goal of
the year in the season-opening victory over St. Joseph's College.
