Pitman, N.J. (11/1/11) – The Kean University women's soccer team placed four members on this year's New Jersey Athletic Conference All-Star squad as announced by the conference on Tuesday. Freshman Kaitlin King highlighted the awards as she was named NJAC Rookie of the Year.
King becomes the second Cougar in the past three seasons to earn Rookie of the Year honors as Seidel earned the award in 2009. King was ranked fourth among all goalies in the NJAC with a 0.81 goals against average in conference play. She was also ranked third with a .812 save percentage.
Esposito earned NJAC honors for the third straight season after garnering first-team honors in 2009 and 2010. Esposito was ranked among the top 10 in conference leaders this season with four goals and 12 points in nine conference matches while finishing third in assists with four assists.
Small was named a second-team all-star for the third straight year. Small was part of a defensive unit that posted five shutouts against NJAC teams and allowed just six goals in nine games against NJAC competition.
Seidel earns post-season honors for the third straight season. This season she was ranked in the top six of most NJAC statistics including goals (6) and assists (3).
