Women's Soccer Advances to NJAC Championship Game

Glassboro, N.J. (11/2/12) – Senior Carly Seidel had a hand in both goals of the match as the Kean University women’s soccer team topped #2 Rowan University, 2-1, Friday evening in the NJAC Tournament.

With the win, the #6 Cougars advance to the NJAC Championship match on Sunday, November 4th against #1 Montclair State University.

Kean (11-5-3) jumped on the board first late in the closing minutes of the first half as Seidel launched a shot from 15 yards out over the keepers head, giving Kean a 1-0 lead at the break.

Rowan (12-3-1) tied things up in the 70th minute, but Kean responded quickly as Seidel crossed a ball from the right side that found rookie Angie Lopez who deposited the game-winner at 74:23.

Rookie KC Nunez (pictured left) tallied 12 saves as the Profs tallied 20 shots on the evening.
