Women’s Swimming Drops Home Opener to Montclair State

UNION, N.J. (11/2/17) - The Kean University women's swimming team dropped their home opener to Montclair State University, 102-73 on Thursday evening.  Kean fell to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the NJAC, while Montclair State improves to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the NJAC.

The Cougars picked up first-place points in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a combined time of 2:59.09.  Darlene Holmes and Nicole Rodas recorded strong times in the 50-yard freestyle.  Holmes clocked in at 27.83 and Rodas finished with a time of 28.72. Holmes also had a strong showing in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing second and clocking in with a time of 1:05.

Head Coach Barbara Perkins and the Cougars will return to the pool in Glassboro, N.J. on Thursday, Nov. 9th, against the Profs of Rowan University at 5:00 p.m.
