Women’s Swimming Falls to Rowan in NJAC action

GLASSBORO, N.J. (11/9/17) - The Kean University women's swimming team dropped an NJAC meet to Rowan University, 142-55 on Thursday evening. The Profs improve to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the NJAC, while the Cougars fall to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the NJAC.

The Cougars picked up second place points in the 1000 yard freestyle, the 100 yard backstroke, the 500 yard freestyle, the 100 yard breaststroke and the 200 yard freestyle relay events. Stephanie Kontra finished with a 15:00 time in the 1000 yard freestyle event and a 1:34 time in the breaststroke event. Jessica Leandro posted a time of 1:51 in the backstroke event, while Joy-Ann Dimaculangan clocked in at 8:04 in the 500 yard freestyle event.

Kontra, Dimaculangan, Darlene Holmes and Molly Lasko combined for a 2:07 time in the 200 yard freestyle relay event.

Head Coach Barbara Perkins and the Cougars will return to the pool in New York, N.Y. on Friday, Dec. 1st, against the Hawks of Hunter College at 6:00 p.m.
