Cougars Pick Up First Win in 2007

Madison, N.J. (9/21/07) - The Kean University women's tennis team picked up their first win of the season on Friday afternoon as they defeated FDU-Florham, 5-4.  The Cougars are now 1-3 overall while FDU falls to 0-6.

Rookie Katherin Arauz (Newark, N.J.) was victorious at fifth singles (7-6, 6-1) as well as third doubles partnered with junior Andrea Grahlmann (Jackson, N.J.) (8-3).

Also victorious in Kean's first win were freshman LaShanna Armour (Union, N.J.) at third singles (6-1, 6-0), Jessica Oquendo (North Berge, N.J.) at sixth singles (6-2, 6-4) and Kareisha Questel (South Brunswick, N.J.) at second singles by forfeit.

The Cougars return to NJAC action on Monday, September 24^th as they host The College of New Jersey at 3:30 p.m.
