Volleyball Falls to Richard Stockton, 3-0
POMONA, N.J. (10/24/06) - Richard Stockton
College swept Kean University (30-16, 30-15, 30-12) in NJAC
volleyball action to finish 8-0 in conference play this season. The
Ospreys (22-8, 8-0 NJAC) will be the top-seed for next week's
six-team NJAC tournament. Despite tonight's loss, Kean (14-15, 3-5
NJAC) still qualifies for the NJAC tournament as the sixth
seed.
Amanda Burkart (Cresskill, N.J.) led Stockton to
its eighth consecutive win with a match-high 17 kills and
Colleen Bachmann (Closter, N.J.) added 10 digs and
nine aces. Brooke Fleming (Manahawkin, N.J.)
scooped a match-high 14 digs and Christine Aletras
(Ridgewood, N.J.) finished with 36 assists, 12 digs and
seven kills for the Ospreys.
Elizabeth Bauer (Rahway, N.J.) paced Kean with
eight kills and 11 digs while Lauren Vazquez (Edgewater,
N.J.) also registered 11 digs. Setter Colleen
Masterson (Rahway, N.J.) dished 17 assists for the Cougars
in the match.
Kean will travel to Wilkes University for a tri-match on Saturday
at 11 am, concluding the regular season.
