Volleyball Splits Tri-Match in Regular Season Finale

WILKES BARRE, Pa. (10/28/06) - Senior outside hitter Elizabeth Bauer (Rahway, N.J.) combined for 31 kills and 31 digs, as the volleyball team split the regular season-ending tri-match at Wilkes University. The Cougars defeated Wilkes (19-30, 30-24, 24-30, 30-22, 15-10) and fell to Keuka College (20-30, 22-30, 24-30), as their record now stands at 15-16 overall heading into the New Jersey Athletic Conference tournament this week.

Against Wilkes, Bauer tallied 18 kills and 17 digs, while junior outside hitter Alicja Ciastoch (Teaneck, N.J.) added 11 kills, 18 digs and six service aces. Sophomore setter Colleen Masterson (Rahway, N.J.) dished out 42 assists and added eight digs.

In the match against Keuka, Bauer recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs, added four kills and 10 digs.

The Cougars are the sixth-seed in the upcoming NJAC tournament, as they face third-seeded Rutgers-Newark on Tuesday, October 31, in Newark, N.J., at 7 p.m.
