Ciastoch Leads Cougars Past Staten Island, 3-0

UNION, N.J. (9/8/07) - Senior outside hitter Alicja Ciastoch (Teaneck, N.J.) notched a match-high 11 kills and had eight service aces to lead the Kean University volleyball team to a straight-game sweep (30-20, 30-19, 30-18) of College of Staten Island in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

For the Cougars (2-1), freshman Nicole Bolash (Elizabeth, N.J.) added 10 kills and sophomore Colleen Masterson (Rahway, N.J.) dished out 25 assists.

The Dolphins (0-2) were led by sophomore Vanessa Perez (Brooklyn, N.Y.) with five assists and one kill, and freshman Cory Robinson (Staten Island, N.Y.) had a team-high three kills.

The Cougars return to action on Tuesday, September 11, when they open New Jersey Athletic Conference action at Montclair State University at 7 p.m.
