 Cougars Fall to Rowan in NJAC Volleyball Action

UNION, N.J. (9/25/07) - The Kean University volleyball team fell to Rowan University (30-20, 30-22, 30-22) in New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Tuesday evening. 

For Kean (3-8, 1-3 NJAC), senior Alicja Ciastoch (Teaneck, N.J.) led the way with seven kills, 15 digs and three service aces.  Freshman Nicole Bolash (Clinton, N.J.) a match-high 17 digs, while sophomore middle blocker Samantha Trujillo (Linden, N.J.) had five kills and three blocks, including two solo blocks.  Freshman Ivana Kapetanovic (East Brunswick, N.J.) had 15 assists on the evening.

In the victory for Rowan (5-7, 3-1 NJAC), junior outside hitter Alexis Louie (Sewell, N.J.) posted a match high 16 kills and added 10 digs.  Freshman Siobahn Young (Mullica Hill, N.J.) had a team-high 12 digs and seven kills, while sophomore setter Chrissy McKay (Paramus, N.J.) had 23 assists and seven digs.

The Cougars return to action Saturday, September 29, when they host College of Saint Elizabeth and John Jay College in a tri-match.  The first match begins at Noon..
