NEW YORK, N.Y. (11/10/12) - The Kean University women’s volleyball team fell to #1 NYU in straight sets Saturday afternoon in the semifinals of the ECAC Metro/Upstate Tournament.
NYU (19-14) was led by sophomore Vera Shulgina who had 12 kills, and junior Alexandria Mao, who had 10 kills. The Violets trailed 24-22 in the third set before rallying to defeat the Cougars (28-11) 28-26 in the set. With the win, NYU advances to the championship game.
The Cougars were led by junior Kaitlyn Hansen who had seven kills and two aces, and sophomore Alana Aranjo, who finished with 16 assists.
