Sims Tabbed Male Athlete of the Month

Union, N.J. (10/1/07) - Brian Sims of the men's cross country team has been selected as the male athlete of the month for September 2006. Sims competed in three meets during the month and posted two top-five finishes, including capturing the Drew Invitational on September 30.

Sims began the season placing 259th out of 388 runners from Division I, II, and III at the Connecticut College Invitational. The he placed fifth at the Stevens Invitational 8,000 meter race with a time of 29:52. Then this past weekend he won the Drew Invitational despite the fact that he lost one of his shoes very early in the race.
