Cougars Compete at NYU Invitational
RIVERDALE, N.Y.
(9/15/07) - The Kean University men's and women's
cross country teams opened the 2007 campaign at the Ninth Annual
New York University Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning.
The race was held at Van Cortlandt Park, the site of the 2007 NCAA
Division III Regional Championships in November.
Senior Anna Khorosheva (Ocean, N.J.) had
the team's top finish, as she placed 165th in the
6000-meter women's regional preview race in a time of
27:11.0. Freshmen Sarah Kovolisky (Cranford,
N.J.) an
d Asha Winters (Ewing, N.J.) rounded out the
women's team, placing 195th (28:25.4) and
230th (32:01.8), respectively.
In the 8000-meter men's regional preview race, rookie
Rolland Ying (East Brunswick, N.J.) finished
184th to lead the Cougar men in a time of 30:31.2
Sophomore Kyle Dabkwoski (South Amboy, N.J.)
finished 11 places behind him in 31:18.1, while sophomore
Justin Shulte (Pennsville, N.J.) was
215th, crossing the finish line in 32:44.6.
Sophomore Stephen Novak (Roselle, N.J.) placed
234th in 35:40.5.
The Cougars return to action next Saturday, September 22, when
they compete at the Connecticut College Invitational.
