Cross Country Runs at Connecticut College Invite

WATERFORD, Conn. (09/22/07) - The Kean University men's and women's cross country team competed at Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday morning at Harkness Memorial Park.

Senior Anna Khorosheva (Ocean, N.J.) led the contingent of Kean runners, placing 101st overall in the 6000-meter race in a time of 26:55.  Freshman Sarah Kovolisky (Cranford, N.J.) was just behind her in 115th place (27:39), while Asha Winters (Ewing, N.J.) and Alejandrina Canelo (Newark, N.J.) were 156^th (31:29) and 170^th (36:17), respectively.

In the men's 8000-meter race, sophomore Ashwin Anantharaman (Hightstown, N.J.) was 114^th, crossing the finish line in 28:21 to lead the Cougars.  Freshman Rolland Ying (East Brunswick, N.J.) finished in 30:57 to place 166^th, while Ezra Schwartz (Bloomfield, N.J.) and Kyle Dabkowski (South Amboy, N.J.) placed 180^th (31:33) and 182^nd (31:37), respectively. 

The Cougars compete at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University on Friday, September 28^th.  The men's race begins at 2:10 p.m., with the women's race going off forty minutes later.
