Cross Country Has Strong Showing at Highlander
Invitational
NEWARK, N.J. (10/07/07) - The Kean University
men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Fourth Annual
Highlander Invitational hosted by New Jersey Institute of
Technology at Branch Brook Park on Sunday morning. The Cougar
men finished eighth in the Division II/III race, while the women
placed four runners among the 61 runner field.
Sophomore Ashwin Anatharaman (Hightstown, N.J.)
placed 15th in men's 8,000-meter race, finishing in
29:26.55. Freshman Rolland Ying (East Brunswick,
N.J.) finished 29th (30:32.91), junior
Ezra Schwartz (Bloomfield, N.J.) was
52nd (32:00.42), junior Jason Guznay (Orange,
N.J.) placed 55th (32:15.85) and freshman
Justin Schulte (Pennsville, N.J.) was
58th (32:25.94) to round out the team's top five
finishers.
In the women's 5,000-meter race, senior Anna Khorosheva
(Ocean, N.J.) continued her best season in a Cougar
uniform, as she finished 11th in 21:47.00.
Freshman Sarah Kovolisky (Cranford, N.J.) finished
21st (23:03.00), freshman Asha Winters (Ewing,
N.J.) was 37th (25:37.00) and freshman
Alejandrina Canelo (Newark, N.J.) placed
47th (27:22.00).
The Cougars compete at the DeSales Invitational in Center
Valley, Pa., next Saturday, October 13.
