Cross Country Races at DeSales
Invitational
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (10/13/07) - The Kean
University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the
DeSales University Invitational on Saturday morning. The
men's team finished 14th overall, while the women had
four runners among the 203 finishers.
Sophomore Ashwin Anatharaman (Hightstown, N.J.)
was Kean's top finisher, as he placed 52nd overall,
finishing the 8,000-meter race in 29:10.07. Freshman
Rolland Ying (East Brunswick, N.J.) cracked the
top 100, as he was 93rd (30:55.48), while junior
Ezra Schwartz (Bloomfield, N.J.) was
114th in 31:51.34.
Freshman Justin Schulte (Pennsville, N.J.)
finished 129th (32:39.34), junior Jason Guznay
(Orange, N.J.) was 137th (33:29.54), freshman
Steve Novak (Roselle, N.J.) placed
139th (33:35.42) and freshman Matt Young
(Montville, N.J.) was 143rd (34:07.77) to round
out the Cougar finishers.
In the women's 6,000-meter race, senior Anna Khorosheva
(Ocean, N.J.) finished in 27:46.28 to place
88th overall. Freshman Sarah Kovolisky
(Cranford, N.J.) placed 123rd (28:58.40),
freshman Asha Winters (Ewing, N.J.) was
164th (31:43.34) and freshman Alejandrina Canelo
(Newark, N.J.) finished 182 (34:15.10).
The Cougars have a week off in preparation of the New Jersey
Athletic Conference championships on Saturday, October 27, at
Richard Stockton College.
