Cross Country Competes at NJAC
Championships
POMONA, N.J. (10/27/07) - The Kean University
men's and women's cross country teams competed at the New Jersey
Athletic Conference championships on Saturday morning at Richard
Stockton College.
The men's team placed sixth overall, while the women had four
runners in the 46-runner field.
Senior Anna Khorosheva (Ocean, N.J.) was the
school's top finisher, as she finished 22nd in 26:25.01
over the 6,000-meter course. Rookie Sarah Kovolisky
(Cranford, N.J.) crossed the finish line in 28:23.48 to
finish 30th, while freshmen Asha Winters (Ewing,
N.J.) and
Alejandrina Canelo (Newark, N.J.) were 36th
(31:24.05) and 40th (32:58.18), respectively.
In the men's 8,000-meter race, sophomore Ashwin
Anatharaman (Highstown, N.J.) led the team with a
29th place finish (29:18.33). Freshman
Rolland Ying (East Brunswick, N.J.) and junior
Ezra Schwartz (Bloomfield, N.J.) were
34th (30:30.51) and 35th (30:39.31), while
sophomore Justin Schulte (Pennsville, N.J.) was
39th in 31:31.24.
Junior Jason Guznay (Orange, N.J.) placed
41st in 32:31.98, freshman Matt Young
(Momtville, N.J.) was 42nd in 32:34.46 and
freshman Stephen Novak (Roselle, N.J.) finished
44th in 33:34.73 to round out the Cougar finishers.
