Perry Schatzow joined the Cougar staff in the summer of 2008 upon graduation from Kean University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education and Health Teacher Ceritification.
Schatzow was inducted into the Kean University Benisch Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017. He was one of the first in baseball program history to be awarded the prestigious Rawlings Gold Glove for his defense during the 2007 National Championship campaign. He earned the game-winning hit in extra innings against Emory University in the 2007 National Championship game, giving the program its first NCAA title. He was a two-time all-region selection.
A four year member of the program, he was also part of the 2007 College World Series All-Tournament Team, and ended his senior season batting .337 with 14 doubles, a home run, 49 runs scored and 38 RBIs while starting all 51 games at shortstop.
